UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM NOBEL PRIZE EXPERIENCE
Elmdon Studios has created four exciting, interactive lessons that bring the research of some of the University’s Nobel Prize winners to life in both virtual and augmented reality.
In just six weeks, we have concepted, built and delivered a pilot product that demonstrates how immersive technology can be utilised to enhance the student and staff experience.
In addition to the four lessons, Elmdon Studios also delivered a gaming experience in which users reach out and grab a device before throwing it at a number of targets.
The innovations we have developed are just the tip of the iceberg when we consider the wider possibilities for applications in teaching, learning and research over the long term.
By 2025, first year undergraduates will have been born in the same year as the iPhone. To meet the unique requirements of this tech-savvy generation, schools and universities will need to adapt.
Elmdon Studios believes immersive technology provides a solution to these challenges, championing multisensory interaction and gamification to encourage innovation and student engagement.
